Our Mission Statement...

JROC was formed to "provide resources to complete improvements in the James River Park and to educate and advise others on park issues in partership with the Richmond Recreation and Parks Foundation."

Who We Are....

JROC's membership is comprised of metro area citizens who are concerned about the future of the James River Park System . We are people who seek ways to improve our local parks along the James River.

What We Do...

JROC does a number of things to benefit the Park System. JROC works to identify necessary park improvements. We raise funds to maintain and improve facilities at the James River Park. To date, we have built a new take out at Mayo Island, improved the Pipeline take out and built a fence around the Reedy Creek parking area to protect park user's vehicles and property. We have also helped in the effort to restore the Pump House at Byrd Park. Additionally, JROC constructed the changing room at Reedy Creek and a new high water take out at Mayo Island. Check out our Projects page.

How To Get Involved ...

We need members to help us in our efforts! Anyone may become a JROC member by printing a copy of our Membership Application. Complete the form and mail it along with your suggested donation to: JROC c/o James River Park P.O. Box 297, Richmond, Va. 23218. We look forward to having you as part of our group!
