Sally Wetzler, Treasurer: Current in Bank: $15, 500. Committed to Projects: $4880. Available: $10, 690.
Statistics for 2007: Donations: $5,200. Funds Raised: $3400. Membership Dues: $2060. Project Expenditures: $6040. JROC Overhead: $395.
Conservation Easement Status: No further information of status change.
Northshore Takeout: Peter dumped rocks for placing up near Karen’s Garden. Toss large rock over the fence. Also toss rock upstream of stairs and below to stabilize stairs.
Need to clear low water takeout
upstream.
Trail Work: Nathan Burrell reporting:
Buttermilk Heights: Fixing where the car ran off the road. Set for reroute from tree.
Also review bridge at bottom of that section. Need to change line there to widen to 5ft. Need to ask $300 from JROC for this project. Moved and seconded to allot $300 to assist in bridge widening at this sight. Nathan also reported that there are about 30 bridges, which need improvement to 5ft. standard.
Also working on Directional Trail Markers, Signage and Maps…they get destroyed after erected.
Chris reiterated the desire to have a joint meting with MORE to discuss trail goals, projects, etc….as well as getting trail users together to emphasize sharing of trails + vision for trail linkage, as well as constructing parallel usage trails
Trail Hikes: Report next month.
Pumphouse Ramp: Access ramp will be a wooden ramp similar to the one at Maymont on the Northbank Trail. BAM is drawing up the plans.
Sign for the Z Dam: Need sign to explain kayak moves. Need graphic artist to depict information as well as maneuvers for kayak information project.
Big trash at base of Hollywood hill along Northbank Trail: Kudzu burn on the hill revealed sinks, fridges. Need giant effort to remove these large items now while winter. Decided to make Project of the Month. Saturday, January 5th at 10:00am. Meet at the Hollywood Cemetery stump dump to walk in and remove trash.
14th Street Ramp: (Keep on List) Handrail construction and best way to get gravel back into the parking lot (maybe on a small swale).
JROC Swap Meet: Sally is on top of reserving 17th Street Market the last weekend in April. Saturday, April 26, 2008
JROC Website: Jim Juritsch is happy to add or work on website. Needs ideas. Maybe Rich Young could provide his Project Photo Book.
