Meeting Called to Order: 6:11PM

 

 

 

 

Invoice presented to JROC from Ralph, but with no approval from JROC: $3,028.45.

 

Paid:     $165 for rigging workshop Nathan – approved and already paid $275.

            $34 – Budget Sign for 14th Street Take-Out sign

            $611.65 – to Peter Bruce for out-of-pocket expenses Lowe’s – Pumphouse Ramp supplies

            $2,217.80 to Transit Lumber for Pumphouse Ramp

 

            $5000 already spent on Pumphouse Ramp materials and supplies.

 

There was considerable discussion about monies requested that were not approved and the lack of available funds in the JROC coffers. Ralph White withdrew his request for added Pumphouse expenses.

 

 

 

 

Volunteers sign-up!

 

Blue Ridge is looking to plan, commit sweat equity as well as dollars to a project which honor’s Andrew.  Randy is listening for a suitable project to which the store, its affiliates and personnel can become involved. Ideas wanted. Discussion was held on several appropriate recommendations. More to follow. Brainstorm!

 

 

 

Trails: Nathan Burrell, Trails Manager for the City Of Richmond

·         Forest Hills: 283ft. of new trail completed. Working on lake..

·         Completed Powhite.

·         Greenway plans going very well. Nathan presented a map of proposed route around Chesterfield and Southside into the city. Exciting stuff! (Nathan selected for Mayor’s Trail Committee!!!!!)

·         Richmond’s trails have been given kudos in Runner’s World, etc (Go Nathan)

 

Pumphouse Update: Should complete this weekend. Need 6 people to finish off ramp.. Also need invoices for proposed $4800 from Ralph White for Pumphouse construction. This is for materials, Ralph said, and asked that we round it off to $5000. It was moved, seconded and approved by vote to do so.

 

 

Gear Swap: Huge success. Brought in ~ $600. Will look to repeat next year, same event and location!

 

 

                   

Project Brainstorming:

1. Repair and Upgrade Huguenot Flatwater

2. Consider drafting a Vision for the Future of the James River plan

3. 14th Street Takeout: handrail

4. Shuttle: Provide transport from 14th Street Takeout to Reedy Creek or Pony Pasture as way to raise membership and bring in extra monies

 

 

**Fishing Guide is published – looks good

**Volunteers needed for June 13th River Cleanup – particularly islands beneath Bosher’s Dam.
