| Had a guest Steve from Richmond Whitewater Club. This group(~70 strong) is involved with recreation and conservation matters | |
| Belle Island Access on Tredegar Street Steve Barnard and Jason Thomas are looking on a location Greg Velzy has been talking with a Virginia Power representative about donating a small section of land to put a boat access point on. Further details to follow. This will be a spring project and we will need volunteers | |
| Piersoll property Donation – Situation update. The paper accepting the donation has been passed by the city council several times at the request of councilman Brooks. There is a small neighborhood band that is opposed to the park and any expansion in the Pony Pasture area (appears they would prefer the Pony Pasture park to be closed) Mr. Piersoll and others are working on a way for the donation to be accepted without controversy. Members are requested to keep informed on the issue, and to be ready to publicly support the donation, but not to make waves yet | |
| On 10/27/00 the River Rescue board purchased by JROC was presented to the Richmond Fire Department at the City Council meeting |

| The December project was assisting at the refreshment standat the Libby
Hill park in connection with the Boating parade |

| January and February projects – no real hot items Members are working on the access issue at Mayo Island – looking for a public place for access and parking close below Pipeline possibly on the North side of the river downstream of the 12thstreet bridge Greg V is going to try to contact Jay Lewis about thesituation KC and Jason are planning to scope out areas |
