JROC October 3, 2001 Meeting Minutes

NOTE:: Due to the potluck dinner and lack of a secretary there are no formal minutes from the October meeting. However here are some of the highlights and notes

First...Welcome to those that attended a JROC meeting for the first time. There was a good turn out from the mountain biking community with some very good input and ideas for future projects and collaboration.

Ralph White gave a brief overview of the summers' activities in the park system.

DISCUSSIONS A phone tree should be constructed and implemented.
Concerns that Mtn. Bike competitions being held in the Park System are having a detrimental effect on the trail network and the park in general. 
Issues surrounding the proposed Dominion Resources building project upstream of the Belle Isle footbridge...future foot access, increased auto traffic, and river views were some of the topics discussed. 
Tredegar St. take out..... it's time to get started 
Whitewater takeout issues at Mayo's island and the surrounding area.
Help complete the "Missing Link" trail on Southside between the Emergency access bridge and the Manchester Wall. 
PROJECTS: Saturday, October 13th....Clean up of the "Pipeline" rapid area coordinated by the Richmond Whitewater Club --- 12:00 in the Reynolds parking lot. 
Sunday, October 14th....Work on the "Missing link" trail --- 2:00 at the Manchester Wall parking lot...moving rocks so bring gloves, shovels, etc.
