Minutes approved (possibly unread). Undersecretary relieved.

TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer’s report: $6558 banked, $1000 allotted. $100 slush fund approved for treasurer to use for organization expenses (stamps, PO Box, etc). All officers approved to sign checks, two signatures are needed for each check.

PROJECT REPORT:
Ralph White Presents; a) Riverside, Lee to Huguenot Scenic Bike Way, connecting 5 aspects of the park to be underway 5/8/4. b) Thanks for the surprise party. c) Salamander habitat survey announced. d) threat to natural beauty by proposed 17 story towers adjacent to Powhite on the North side. Get active and express your thoughts.
Belle Isle Kiosk: anti-graffiti plastic in place. Excellent work. Rich makes great maps. Vince has his eye on Reedy Creek trailhead map. Times Dispatch generously agrees to print park maps at their expense.
Geese continuing to thrive. Ralph vows to keep them off grass. Proposes funny tasty goo.
North Shore Takeout: More local officials like the idea, i.e. Ellen Robinson. Game & Fish is on board for non-power boat access and will be able to help with design potentially. Ralph H. hard at work on this issue. Will Mayo owners sell to city? Let’s talk again.
Dinesh Twari announces park system administration reorganization at Falls of the James meeting 5/13/04. Expect report on that event. Implications are uncertain. JROC advises JR Park system not be placed under Public Works to ensure its current health and development.
Donor Plaque completed.
High water permit letters submitted to JROC presidente.
Trails expanding rapidly. Mid-Atlantic Outdoor Rec. Enthusiasts are expanding their membership locally and are interested in JR Park development. RMA and Mtn. bikers to meet to consider loop options around Powhite toll development area.
Improved scientific integrity promised by park user survey committee. Friends of JR Park to aid in survey.
Park Boundary markers slated for fall project.
Trail from Carrillon to Pumphouse needs the assistance of pros to design the trail.
Volunteers needed for the last weekend in June for James River Park Day to aid shallow water nature explorations. 12pm fish release in quarry. Meet 2-4 at Nature Center. At 8pm that evening we need torch carriers, fire extinguisher carriers and first aid suppliers for the slave trail walk.
June 12th is James River clean up day.
Motion approved to explore a $200 John Boat advert. If good deal, buy it.
5/8/04 installation of signs Belle to Reedy & 42nd to Powhite.
PCB’s found in Lower James catfish near Hopewell.
May 22nd James River Day and from 9-1 Richmond Riverfront Ramble.
