TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer’s report...Jim Who is Where?...
We received the check from RR&PF (to close our account with the Foundation) and along with a donation from sticker sales at Blue Ridge Mtn. Sports ($236) we have $7,849.50 IN THE BANK. Special thanks again to ADRIAN TAIT at BRMS for the donation from selling all those little stickers.

PROJECT REPORT
 - The Eagle Donors plaque is here, just needs to be mounted.
- Garland Memorial Stone, Greg will get with Mr. Bruce to move the stone.
- Illegal tree cutting issue...Dinish Tawari (Dir.of Parks and Rec.) states that it’s in the final stages of negotiations with the City’s legal dept.
Will Jones with the Times Dispatch will be contacted to see what he can find out.
- Mr. Bruce has been using the Mtn.. Bike donated by JROC this summer...
Thanks to the biker guys for this! Kevin Clark, Bob Burch, Roger Sattler, etc.
- Poison Ivy! The backpack sprayer is still VERY available to help control P.I. in the high traffic areas of the Park System.
- North Shore Takeout parking Lot - Closed! A construction company appears to have leased the gravel lot from Norfolk Southern to store their equipment in. It was suggested that we try to raise a greater awareness of the need for a public takeout in the most popular area for whitewater boaters. Stephen Ensign will contact Risa at Am. Whitewater, Adrian Tate will contact the ACA. There will also be an effort to get the T.D., Style or whoever will listen, to write articles about this plight. Ralph (Wolfgang) Hambrick will follow up with his contacts on this issue.
A committee was formed to follow up on this most important issue (Motion by Buzz, 2nd by Stephen E.). Members include Ralph H., Adrian T. Stephen E., Brian M., Greg V., Ralph W. and Steve Ellison (he doesn’t know it though).
- Steps from 2nd St. Bridge to Belle Isle Parking lot. Ralph W. says the City has decided to finally get involved and do this project...Great to hear, What took them sooooo long????
- Trails in bad shape from wet weather and bikers - Continued educational campaign to try to keep riders off the trail when wet. There is also the potential for building boardwalks through the most sensitive areas. To this end, a motion was made by Susanne Smith, 2nded by Sally Wetzler and passed by the members present to give UP TO $400.00 to purchase supplies for boardwalk construction. Ralph has a mysterious army of volunteers who want (?) to do this. Roger Sattler also related that IMBA is probably sending a trail building delegation to town in Oct. to help with this issue. There has also been a showing of bikers from the Petersburg area who have constructed at least one bridge (under the Boulevard bridge). Kudos to the “Out of Towners” for helping in our plight.
- JROC decals are done! Thanks to Mark Pizzini for his time and donation of the first 100 decals. They will be available to all current members at the Oct. Meeting. In recognition of his donations, Mark was awarded an honorary 5 year JROC membership.
- JROC business cards to hand out to folks wanting info about JROC are being designed by Adrian Tait. Motion by Ralph H., 2nd by G.V. to spend up to $80 for printing... approved... They should be finished and printed by Oct.

- JROC membership cards are also being done by Adrian...a draft should be ready for review in Oct.
- There was a discussion about raising the profile of JROC by having PSA’s on NPR

- New business was brought up to approach the city about changing the length of time that the High Water Permits are valid. Stephen E. made the motion, 2nd by Brian M. We are recommending 10 years with no change in cost. Brian M. agreed to take this on.

- Next meeting is the Potluck Dinner...Oct. 1st.
